Cristi’s roots run deep in small business life, thanks to her formative years tallying receipts and wrangling spreadsheets in her dad’s shop. That early exposure made her passionate about helping entrepreneurs stay out of trouble with the IRS and more importantly, keep their businesses thriving.
Day-to-day, Cristi helps clients close and review their books, handles tax returns without breaking a sweat, and delivers practical advice that actually sticks. Her secret weapon? She turns dense reports into easy-to-read charts and graphs, making even the most reluctant number-phobes breathe easier.
She’s witnessed businesses on the brink find their footing, start growing, and even rediscover the joy of a well-earned vacation—all because they finally feel in control of their finances. Cristi believes that business should enable more living, less worrying.
When she’s not working or coaching a client through tax season, you’ll find her in West Palm Beach, Florida, recharging with her husband, three kids, and a mischievous golden retriever.

Sue Effhauser, Controller
Sue turns financial headaches into smooth operations as Cobb CPA’s resident Accountant and QuickBooks Pro Advisor.
She specializes in guiding service-based businesses — including contractors and legal firms — through monthly accounting, general ledger upkeep, and the fine art of prepping financial statements that even tax professionals admire. Setting up new company files, customizing charts of accounts, and streamlining payroll for every industry quirk? All in a day’s work.

Sue’s knack for numbers started in the family business, where she learned the value of grit, trust, and practical advice. That foundation evolved into a career focused on not just fixing messy books, but transforming them into powerful tools for growth.
Her clients count on her for more than software know-how; she delivers training, workflow optimizations, and the occasional reality check—with a wink and a smile.
Clients love Sue’s hands-on, approachable style. She listens, tailors solutions, and treats every business like her own.
For Sue, success isn’t about crossing off a to-do list; it’s about building long-term partnerships grounded in empathy, integrity, and results you can measure. As business rules change, she keeps her clients ahead of the curve. And yes, she’ll make you laugh while doing it.

Kristen Puch, Tax Accountant
Kristen doesn’t just crunch numbers. She wrangles tax codes until they play nice for her clients. As a tax accountant at Cobb CPA, Kristen prepares business and individual tax returns, keeps a close eye on compliance, and hunts for every opportunity to trim tax bills without cutting corners.
When you want a clear plan, not a pile of paperwork, Kristen thrives on translating complicated tax jargon into steps anyone can follow.

Kristen’s fascination with problem-solving (and her love of a good spreadsheet) set her on the accounting path early. What keeps her energized isn’t just the math—it’s the chance to help clients see through the fog of financial complexity, giving them the confidence to make smart moves year-round.
She believes transparency and accuracy go hand-in-hand, so clients always know their options and what’s at stake. As the numbers change, her commitment to client success stays constant.
Her approach is simple: listen first, deliver solutions second, and make sure everyone walks away understanding their taxes better than when they came in.
When she’s not decoding the latest tax update, Kristen is likely catching a D-Backs game and hoping for extra innings.

Her clients range from shell-shocked entrepreneurs with boxes of mystery receipts to teams ready for a smarter way to scale.
Debi’s not afraid of financial messes—in fact, her favorite triumph involves restoring order after a client’s tax audit meltdown, giving them not only a cleaner set of books but a whole new outlook on their business.
Years of accounting experience, a love for practical problem-solving, and a dash of irreverence help her cut through the confusion and build sustainable systems that actually stick.
Debi’s approach is built on curiosity, candid conversations, and a drive to make each business owner’s life easier. Whether she’s reviving old processes or cheering on a client’s next win, she believes financial clarity shouldn’t be a luxury—or a snooze.
When she’s not transforming financial dread into newfound confidence, Debi recharges as “Mimi” to her two grandchildren, or gets her best ideas during hikes with her dog, Jax. She brings the same energy and care to her work that she brings to her family, always on the lookout for the next restoration project—be it a client’s books or a vintage find at a local shop.

Tracy Cobb, Co-Founder
Tracy has been dodging dull spreadsheets and outwitting tax codes since 1987. After cutting his teeth at a regional firm in Portland, he decided the Pacific Northwest rain wasn’t enough to wash away his passion for helping small businesses thrive.
So Tracy and his wife Debi headed to Phoenix, set up Cobb CPA, and started turning tax season into a reason for clients to celebrate.

Tracy's the guy small business owners call when they want more than someone to crunch numbers. They want a co-conspirator in their success.
Tracy has guided everyone from fledgling startups to thriving institutions, including a Montessori school that grew from a dozen students to over 350, earning a spot as one of Arizona’s top elementary schools. The school’s founder once said, “…you made this possible.” Tracy counts that as better than any trophy.
Ask him what drives him, and he’ll say it’s watching clients crush their goals and seeing that ripple out to families, teams, and communities.
When he’s not showing tax forms who’s boss, Tracy’s exploring the world (Peru gets two thumbs up), or spending time with his family and grandkids. He’s on a mission to make
accounting less painful and a lot more rewarding for everyone involved.
